On October 27, Ambassador Monika Simonyan was received by Mr. Nakasone Yasutaka, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan.

Ambassador Simonyan noted that there is a steady dynamic in the relations between Armenia and Japan, as well as significant potential for developing cooperation across a number of sectors.

The Ambassador emphasized the importance of maintaining an active political dialogue and conducting high-level reciprocal visits. She also underscored the need for joint efforts aimed at fostering economic ties and increasing the volume of bilateral trade, including by fully utilizing the opportunities for the import of Armenian goods into the Japanese market.

State Minister Nakasone noted that Prime Minister Pashinyan’s visit to Japan last September served as an important milestone in advancing bilateral relations. He expressed hope that cooperation would continue to strengthen, including in the fields of information technology and artificial intelligence, citing the "TUMO" center operating in Gunma Prefecture as an example.

The interlocutors exchanged views on the regional security situation and efforts aimed at establishing lasting peace in the South Caucasus. Ambassador Simonyan presented developments regarding the implementation of the Armenian government’s "Crossroads of Peace" initiative, as well as the developments aimed at implementing the “Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity” (TRIPP) project.
