On October 17, Ambassador Grant Pogosyan had meetings with the mayor of the Kofu city in the Japanese prefecture of Yamanashi, the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and business community of Yamanashi prefecture. Regional cooperation and the promotion of business and cultural relations were discussed during the meetings.

On October 20, the Armenian Embassy in Japan held a concert of Armenian and Japanese music in Kofu city.

The event was held in the attendance of the mayor of Kofu, officials representing the province of Yamanashi, businessmen, artists and music lovers. The event started with welcoming remarks by Ambassador Pogosyan who mentioned that the synthesis of Armenian and Japanese spiritual culture helps Armenians and the Japanese get to know each other better, and to get acquainted with the values of both cultures.

The concert was performed by Armenian and Japanese musicians, including violinist Karen Israelyan, koto player Asuka Yoshizaki and baritone singer Yuhei Tsuchida, who performed the music pieces of Komitas and Japanese composers.

The music of Komitas played on the koto (Japanese traditional musical instrument) was performed in Japan for the first time.
