Armenian-Japanese political consultations took place in Tokyo

Armenia and Japan held political consultations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan. From the Armenian side, the session was moderated by RA Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey MANASSARIAN, and from the Japanese side was Special Representative of the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the South Caucasus and Central Asia Toyohisu KOZUKI.

The agenda included issues on deepening the Armenian-Japanese relations, as well as the adding variety to the bilateral cooperation in politics, economy and the humanities. The parties also exchanged views on developments in the region and the opportunities for expansion of international cooperation.

The consultations continued on January 24 and led to an agreement on the program of events to be held in light of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Japan to be marked within the year 2012. On the same day Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Sergey MANASSARIAN was received by Vice-Speaker of the House of Representatives of the National Diet of Japan Seishiro ETO, and participated at the meeting with members of the newly established Japan-Armenia Parliamentary Friendship League formed within the National Diet of Japan.
