Ambassador Monika Simonyan met with Mr. Suzuki Shunichi, Secretary-General of LDP

On June 25 Ambassador Monika Simonyan met with Mr. Suzuki Shunichi, Secretary-General of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) of Japan, who is also the Chairman of the Japan-Armenian Parliamentary Friendship League.

The meeting focused on issues related to the possibilities of activating parliamentary ties between Armenia and Japan and deepening the existing cooperation. In particular, the importance of establishing close relations and conducting mutual visits between parliamentary friendship groups was emphasized.

The prospects for strengthening economic cooperation were also discussed. Ambassador Simonyan presented the key points of the “Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity” project and the Armenian government’s “Crossroads of Peace” initiative, emphasizing Armenia’s commitment and approaches to establishing sustainable peace in the region.

In 2016, Shunichi Suzuki visited Armenia as part of the Japan-Armenian Parliamentary Friendship League.
