Event in Tokyo celebrating the 23rd Anniversary of the Independence of Armenia

On September 23, the Embassy of Armenia to Japan hosted a reception to celebrate the 23rd Anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Armenia.

Members of the Japanese parliament, officials from several government agencies and institutions, diplomats, businesspeople, educators, journalists and members of the Japan-Armenia Friendship Associations were among the guests.

At the opening of the event, the guests were greeted by Ambassador Pogosyan. The ambassador stated the accomplishments of the country since its independence 23 years ago. He also mentioned about the challenges and the future prospects for Armenia.

The Ambassador expressed his contentment with the strengthening relations between Armenia and Japan and noted that in recent years the Japanese public has become more familiar with Armenia.

After the Ambassador’s greeting, Mr. Seishiro Eto, the new president of Japan-Armenia Parliamentary Friendship Group directed a congratulatory message to the leadership of Armenia and to the Armenian people. He noted that Armenia and Japan are actively working on deepening their friendship and strengthening partnership ties. He mentioned that the willingness to collaborate shown by both parties would result in implementation of the imminent bilateral agenda. Mr. Eto expressed a confidence that the opening of the Japanese embassy in Armenia next year will contribute in the efficiency of collaboration between our countries.
